TIPS FOR RACE FANS

If you’re heading to the Anduril 250 Race at the Base and hoping to meet your favourite NASCAR drivers, here are some handy tips to boost your chances:

Arrive early
Drivers often appear at the track for practice sessions, interviews, or fan activities before the main race. Arriving as soon as the gates open gives you the best opportunity to catch autograph sessions, meet-and-greets, or appearances in the fan zone.

Check the official schedule.
Keep an eye on the NASCAR and event websites for confirmed autograph signings, pit road tours, and fan interaction times. Some drivers also take part in pre-race or post-race events that are listed in the official schedule. Social media channels can also announce last-minute appearances. The Coronado Street Course Fan Zones are known for being one of the best places to meet drivers, snap photos, and get signatures.

Look for a meet-and-greet event.s
Many teams and sponsors host driver meet-and-greets during race weekend. Some are open to all ticket holders, while others may require special passes. Check your ticket information for details.

Be in the right place at the right time.
While access to the garage and pit areas is usually limited, certain passes or VIP experiences may allow entry. Drivers often walk through the Fan Zone on their way to and from their cars — stay alert and ready! Some will stop briefly for autographs or selfies if time allows.

Bring something to sign
Drivers may not always have merchandise to hand out, so bring your own items such as a race program, hat, poster, T-shirt, or die-cast car. Small items are easier for drivers to sign quickly.

Be patient and respectful.
Remember, drivers follow tight schedules, especially on race day. If you get the chance to speak with them, be polite and brief. Avoid interrupting interviews or team meetings. Long queues are common at fan events — a little patience and courtesy go a long way.

How to enjoy the race comfortably

When it comes to big NASCAR events, if you have an idea, thousands of others probably do too! Try to plan your day slightly differently from the crowd. Eat, use restrooms, or visit the merchandise stands at off-peak times to avoid long lines and missing on-track action.

Wear comfortable clothing and shoes, stay hydrated, and take breaks in shaded or indoor areas if the weather gets hot. Bringing ear protection is also highly recommended, especially for children.
